ADULT PROGRAMS

The Sanctuary Choir

The Sanctuary or Adult Choir membership is open to those persons

who have a genuine love for singing as worship and learning to grow both

musically and spiritually. This choir is responsible for providing Sabbath Worship

Service anthems, leading in the musical portions of our worship (the singing of

hymns and other special worship music), as well as singing for seasonal and

other special music (Lent, Easter, Advent, Christmas, Fall and Spring Services,

etc.). Rehearsals for this choir are held on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m.

in our choir room. The Sanctuary Choir is continuing to grow, and we encourage

all those who wish to have a wonderful time singing praises to our God to

come and see just what we do! Welcome!

The Pisgah Ringers

Our adult handbell choir is an added dimension of worship through

music; we are extremely fortunate to have four octaves of Schulmerich handbells

that we incorporate into many special services during the year. This special

choir plays for special Sabbath Services as well as seasonal and other special

music.  We are currently supporting a membership of 14 and need

alternates. We ALWAYS have room for more!

CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS

Cherub Choir

This choir is taught by our assistant music teachers and is the first

introduction to music for the youngsters here at Pisgah. The Cherubs sing

(and do other interesting things) for special services during the year in order to

introduce them to the sanctuary and the idea of singing in worship. This

group is a part of the Wednesday Midweek class and meets with their

respective teachers. The Cherubs are two and three years of age.

The Junior Choir

This choir involves those children from 4 years of age through

the first grade; they sing for many special occasions during the year

and are responsible for performing in both a Christmas and an Easter

Pageant each year. They are combined with the Elementary Choir

in these pageants as well as Vacation Bible School Musicales that occur

in the summer. The Junior Choir meets during Midweek services each

Wednesday in the Fall and Spring.

The Elementary Choir

This choir involves those children and youth from grade

two to grade four; as stated above, they combine with the Junior

Choir to present various pageants during the year, but also have the

responsibility for singing in several services during the Fall and Spring

seasons. Our Youth Performance Choir comes from this group as we

gain new members each year.

The Covenant Chimers

This group is made up of music readers from the third through

the eighth grade who use their talents in the ringing of our three octave

handchimes. The Chimers got off the ground in the Fall of 2000 and

are eleven strong! We will be performing in the Sabbath Worship Services

both in the Fall and Spring.

ORFF Instrument Class

This class is for beginning (children) music learners and requires no

music reading ability. It is designed for teaching the rudiments of music theory and is not performance-based. However, from time to time the class will

participate in group performance. It is open to 1st through 4th graders and limited in size due to our space limitations at present. This group meets at

4:45 p.m. on Wednesdays during the Fall and Spring.

YOUTH AND OTHER PROGRAMS

The Youth Performance Choir

This group is a new addition to our music department this year.

We now have a group of young people that are ready to embark on a more

serious journey musically; that being the case, we have formed this new

group to give our young folks the chance to sing in a more formal setting than

just "fun songs" for fun! This group does those songs as well, however, they

also will be exposed to just a little bit more of music styles and their aim is

a more serious approach to learning music to perform in the service of worship.

Our group is growing and is open all those from 4th grade through 8th grade.

We rehearse on Sunday afternoons from 5:00 p.m. until 6:15 p.m. Come join

us and sing!

Jubilee Ringers

This group has come from our Covenant Chimer group and are now

ready for beginning bell ringing. We currently have a group of 11 young folks

and rehearse on Sunday afternoons from 6:15 p.m. until 7 p.m. This group will

be performing in various services throughout the church year. Want to give it

a ring?
