Reverend Mike Basie, Associate Minister of Youth and Family
Hi! Just call me Mike, I'm not too formal. I am
the Pastor of youth and family here at Pisgah. That means I'm involved alot
with the Middle and High school people, and I work a good bit with family
concerns.
I felt like I moved back home when I came to
Pisgah, because I call Rock Hill my hometown. I graduated from Northwestern
High there in Rock Hill, and then went to Erskine College where I majored in
psychology. I married my college sweetheart after we graduated, and we
moved out to Colorado for 2 1/2 years so that she could go to grad school in
piano. (I didn't know what I wanted to do when grew up yet) After that, we
moved back to South Carolina so I could go to Erskine Seminary. I just
graduated in May, '06. I finally graduated!
We have two gorgeous little girls. Ruth Lynn is
2 years and Lucy is 3 months old, and I have never been wrapped so tightly
around anybody's finger as I am with those two! I enjoy all kinds of sports
(especially soccer), skiing on snow and water, weight lifting, swimming, and
just hanging out with people.
I love my Lord, Jesus Christ, because he loved me
first. He found me, I didn't find him. Every day I learn to lean more and
more on him, and to love him like he wants to be loved. My passion is to
see people of all ages, groups, and backgrounds coming to know and love the
Lord that loves deeper than anything we can imagine. If you don't know this
